Dear New PCA Parents and Families,

First and foremost, welcome to Park City Academy. All of us here at the school will do everything possible to make you feel warmly welcomed into the parent community at the Academy and to make your children’s educational experience a joyful success. Below is some basic information to help you as you prepare for your child’s first days at the Academy.

UNIFORMS The annual uniform swap sale on July 30 from 9:00 to 3:00 is a great way to stock on uniform items up for $5 per piece. Full details on our dress code can be found here>>.

PARENT ORIENTATION Please plan to attend the scheduled parent orientation meetings. You will be among old and new families and receive pertinent information about the Academy and how to maximize your child’s educational experience.

Wednesday August 20 6:30 – 7:30 Early Childhood Orientation – EC classrooms (parents only, please)

Monday August 25 8:30 – 10:00 Lower School Parent Orientation, PCA Auditorium

1st through 5th parents and students please join Head of School Charlie Sachs in the auditorium for juice and coffee between 8:00 and 8:20. At 8:20 you will be invited to escort your children to their classrooms and reconvene in the auditorium for comments and updates from Mr. Sachs.

Monday August 25 12:30 – 1:30 Middle School Parent Orientation, PCA Auditorium

Middle School parents please send your children to the Middle School classrooms and join Head of School Charlie Sachs in the auditorium for refreshments and back to school comments and updates from Mr. Sachs.

BACKPACKS Be sure to purchase a back pack or school bag for your child which will accommodate winter clothes, books (as grade appropriate), and a lunchbox. Please note that larger, wheeled backpacks may not fit in our lockers.

LUNCH AND SNACKS Students eat lunch in the classroom with their teacher and classmates. Please send a nutritious lunch to School with your child. Each classroom has refrigeration and a microwave. Please remember to send appropriate snacks (two for Preschool through Kindergarten and one for elementary and middle schools) with your child to school each day. Note: No lunch is necessary on Fridays. Dismissal is at 12:00 noon.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP Drop off time is 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. and pick up time is 12:30 for half-day early childhood students, 3:10 For full-day Early Childhood students, and 3:30 for all other students. Students should not arrive before 7:45 a.m. as before-care staff is not available before this time.

School ends at 12:00 noon on Fridays.

Pick up for Early Childhood Mon-Thurs. is 3:10. Pick up for Early Childhood on Friday is 11:40. Early Childhood students going to Aftercare will remain with their teachers until Aftercare begins (3:30 M-Th and 12:00 Fri.) Lunch is not included in the Friday schedule, but if a student is staying for Aftercare, a lunch should be packed.

Please do not leave your car unattended in the drop off area. PCA faculty and staff will meet your child and ensure delivery to the classroom.

AFTER CARE Supervised after care is available from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on a regular or drop-in basis at $8.00 per hour. Please contact Susan Radtke at 435.649.2791 or sradtke@parkcityacademy.org with any questions or concerns, and remember, we’re all eager to see you at the end of August!
