Dear Park City Academy Parents and Families:

Once again, welcome to Park City Academy. Thank you for choosing PCA and investing in your child’s future.

We have been busy this summer making sure everything is ready for your arrival for the first day of school on August 25. As you read in Charlie’s back to school letter, we’ve made some exciting improvements and look forward to your children enjoying the benefits of these changes very soon.

New families, please find and review the New Family Information sheet posted on the school website, and always feel free to call or stop by with questions or concerns.

Please plan to attend the parent orientation schedule for your child’s grade listed below. These sessions are a great way to get the year started at PCA, to learn about school policies, plans for the year, and to meet up with old friends and meet and welcome new parents.

IMPORTANT DATES

WEDNESDAY, JULY 30, 9:00 A.M. TO 3:00 P.M. – UNIFORM SWAP

Get great bargains on gently used uniform items as well as the opportunity to bring in your gently used items that no longer fit. Please bring gently used items to the front desk by July 29. Remember that 2008-2009 is a transition year and the previous logo will still be acceptable, so come and shop!

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20, 6:30 TO 7:30 P.M. – EARLY CHILDHOOD PARENT ORIENTATION

Please mark your calendars for the Early Childhood Parent Orientation on August 20. Parents will receive a presentation from their children’s teacher to review classroom procedure, pick up and drop off guidelines, learn what your child will be doing every day, and much more! Please note the orientation is for parents only.

MONDAY, AUGUST 25, FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL – partial day

8:15 – 12:00 Early Childhood (MWF students) and Lower School
12:30 – 3:30 Middle School

MONDAY, AUGUST 25, LOWER AND MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENT ORIENTATION

8:30 – 10:00 Lower School Parent Orientation, PCA Auditorium

1st through 5th parents and students please join Head of School Charlie Sachs in the auditorium for juice and coffee between 8:00 and 8:20. At 8:20 you will be invited to escort your children to their classrooms and reconvene in the auditorium for comments and updates from Mr. Sachs.

12:30 – 1:30 Middle School Parent Orientation, PCA Auditorium

Middle School parents please send your children to the Middle School classrooms and join Head of School Charlie Sachs in the auditorium for refreshments and back to school comments and updates from Mr. Sachs.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 26, FULL SCHOOL SCHEDULE BEGINS

8:15 – 3:30 Kindergarten through Eighth grades
8:15 – 12:30 All Early Childhood students in half day program

Please note that school ends at 12:00 noon on Fridays (no lunch)

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, FUNKY OLD MINERS’ DAY PARADE

Join PCA student, parents, teachers, and administrators and show your school spirit by marching/walking/bike-riding/convertible-riding/scooter-riding/stilt-walking/skate-boarding or any other creative way of ambulating you can think of!
